Project Manager ILocation: Washington, DC Job Type: Direct Hire Salary: Starting at $95,000/year (Higher compensation may be available based on experience)We are seeking an experienced Project Manager I to oversee commercial and institutional construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This role is responsible for managing all phases of the project lifecycle, including estimating, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, budgeting, compliance, and project delivery. Projects are typically valued at $2 million or less.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management with 4–7 years of experience with a commercial or industrial general contractor, or 10+ years of directly related experience in lieu of a degreeExperience estimating and managing subcontracted and self-performed construction workKnowledge of commercial and institutional construction methods, renovation, and site workProficiency with spreadsheets, email, and construction management softwareExperience using Primavera P6 or Microsoft ProjectAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.Able to walk job sites, climb ladders and stairs, and perform regular site inspectionsValid driver's license with a clean driving record1–3 years of government contracting experience preferredCurrent OSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR certifications preferredUSACE/NAVFAC CQC Certification preferredProfessional certifications such as Associate Constructor (AC), Certified Professional Constructor (CPC), or Professional Engineer (PE) are a plusResponsibilitiesManage construction projects from estimating through project closeoutPrepare estimates, negotiate contracts, and oversee project buyoutCoordinate with owners, architects, subcontractors, and project stakeholdersObtain required permits and ensure regulatory complianceConduct regular site visits to monitor safety, quality, cleanliness, and progressDevelop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 or Microsoft ProjectMonitor project performance, budgets, schedules, and change ordersLead project meetings and communicate updates with project teamsNegotiate contracts, subcontracts, and purchase ordersManage project costs, monthly billing, vendor payments, and financial reportingEnsure compliance with contract requirements, safety standards, and applicable regulationsOversee project documentation, project controls, and closeout activitiesCollaborate with internal departments including Accounting and Human ResourcesParticipate in professional development and industry networking opportunities
