Description of Job Function
1. Leads other custodians in performing the cleaning functions. Acts as crew leader for full-time and Staff custodial employees. 2. Dust mops, sweeps, vacuums, mops, strips, and waxes all floors as required. 3. Cleans glass doors, dust mops walls and light fixtures, cleans water fountains, sweeps stairs, empties all waste containers and ash trays, dusts desks in offices, and services coffee machines in conference rooms and lounges. 4. Cleans chalk boards and chairs in classrooms, maintains restrooms in excellent condition at all times, and maintains and cleans custodial supplies and equipment. 5. Assists in relocating furniture, books, etc. 6. Initiates work orders for minor building maintenance. 7. Performs minor repairs to plumbing problems (i.e. commodes, faucets leak, stoppages, etc.) 8. Ensures that areas of responsibility are secured at the completion of custodial rounds. 9. Maintains inventory of all supplies and equipment and re-orders through supervising Custodial Department. 10. Performs other duties as assigned.
