Registered Nurse (RN), Surgery/Bariatric- Acute Care

Job Summary Full‑time Acute Care RN to join the Surgery/Bariatric unit at Wellstar Kennestone Medical Center. This role is a night‑shift position with a schedule of 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., three nights per week. Responsibilities Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) using evidence‑based practice. Deliver patient‑centered care that reflects cultural diversity and individual patient characteristics. Partner with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members through bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, and timely teaching to keep patient goals at the forefront of the care plan. Coordinate and document safe, quality patient care; promote respectful, inclusive communication and timely completion of documentation. Participate in performance improvement initiatives, research utilization, and shared governance activities at all system levels. Serve as a preceptor or mentor for peers, students, and other healthcare staff to build a qualified workforce. Support the development of protocols and procedures to improve practice outcomes and resource utilization. Qualifications Associate’s Degree in Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Minimum of 2 years of registered nurse experience; less than 1 year of experience eligible with completion of required clinical hours. Active Georgia Registered Nurse license (or Multi‑state Compact) and Basic Life Support certification (BLS). Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, evidence‑based clinical environment. Skills & Certifications Registered Nurse (Single State) license required.
