Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: CVICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12 Hours Day/Night Rotation Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years recent dedicated Cardiac ICU/CCU/CVICU experience required License: Virginia RN License/Compact License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Recent experience/competency in VV/VA ECMO, IABP (Intra Aortic Balloon Pumps), TTM/Arctic Sun, Impella, CRRT, PA Catheter Guided Therapy Strong experience with all advanced therapy modalities Ability to read and interpret EKG rhythm strips Experience managing and titrating Cardiac/Vasoactive Drips Description: The role requires critical nursing skills in the Cardiac ICU setting. Common patient types include Post Op CABG, Heart and Lung Transplant, Cardiogenic Shock, Advanced Heart Failure Management, Cardiac Arrhythmias, Lysis, and Post Interventional Radiology/PCI Procedures. Floating may occur primarily between CICU and CVICU, but could include other ICUs as needed. Weekend requirement includes every other weekend and one major winter holiday. The bed ratio is 1:1 or 1:2, with stepdown units having a 1:3 ratio. Electronic Medical Record system used is Epic. Scrubs must consist of navy blue pants and solid navy blue or solid white tops, with solid navy blue or solid white jackets permitted.
