Locum Tenens Hematology Oncologist Position Type: Locum Tenens Specialty: Physician - Hematology Oncology Location: Michigan Shift: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM with shared after-hours call (5:00 PM 7:00 AM) Start Date: ASAP End Date: December 31, 2026 Position Highlights: Hematology-focused practice with over 90% hematology and minimal solid tumor cases. Comprehensive practice including outpatient clinic, infusion center, and inpatient consult service. Strong multidisciplinary support with multiple physicians and Advanced Practice Providers. Position Details: Patient Population: Adult and Geriatric Setting: Outpatient Clinic, Infusion Center, and Inpatient Consult Service Facility Type: Hospital Facility Setting: Urban Responsibilities: Evaluate and manage benign and malignant hematology patients. Provide inpatient consultations and outpatient clinic care. Participate in a shared after-hours call rotation. Order laboratory studies and diagnostic imaging. Prescribe and manage treatment plans. Participate in multidisciplinary Tumor Board meetings. Required Procedures: Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) Biopsy EMR System: Epic Support Staff: 6 Hematology/Oncology Physicians 5 Inpatient Advanced Practice Providers 6 Outpatient Advanced Practice Providers Radiation Oncologists Infusion Center Staff Days Per Month: Full-time, Monday Friday. On-Call/Weekends: Shared after-hours call (5:00 PM 7:00 AM). Approximately 1:5 call rotation. Advanced Practice Provider support available during call. Requirements: Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology. Active Michigan Medical License strongly preferred (providers willing to obtain licensure will be considered). BLS Certification required.
