Part Time Medical Receptionist

Overview Seeking a Part Time Medical Receptionist for Boston Children's Health Physicians' pediatric office in Eastchester, NY. Schedule: Monday, Thursday, and Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, and two Saturdays per month 8:00am-12:00pm. Pay rate $19/hr-$20/hr, negotiable based on experience. Organizational Duties and Responsibilities Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of Boston Children's Health Physicians in its efforts to provide quality service and patient satisfaction. Demonstrates continuing education by completing all required annual trainings, as stated in the Training Curriculum, including care coordination, population health management, and self‑management support techniques. Completes annual corporate compliance training. Understands and effectively communicates HIPAA compliance, corporate compliance, and client confidentiality. Ensures and/or remains in compliance with local, state and federal regulations. Essential Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities Office responsibilities. Verifies all patient and family demographics. Verifies all insurance information. Checks the online pre‑visit registration through the Phreesia program, adding and/or correcting any information in the patient database. Follows up on any positive responses in the Coronavirus screening through Phreesia. Checks Phreesia at the end of the day to prepare for the next day’s visits; incomplete registrations and positive screenings are dealt with then. Checks online payment of balances and copayments, and assists parents in making these payments at the time of the visit if not done prior. Assists new patients in completing the registration forms. Updates all information in the patient’s electronic record, including removing alerts that no longer apply. Assists patients in obtaining access to the Patient Portal for each child in the family. Manages referrals to specialists and insurance inquiries. Makes appointments for future visits for patients as they exit. When necessary, assists in answering telephone calls, making and changing appointments. Experience with Electronic Medical Records is essential; familiarity with the NextGen EMR is a plus. Position Requirements High school degree or equivalent required. Pediatric experience preferred. Location: Eastchester, NY. Job type: Part‑Time.
