Job Description The HIV Customer Representative is a key member of the Customer Team and plays a critical role in supporting our customer‑centric business model. The role involves working with the Customer Team to understand and identify customer needs, supporting pull‑through activities related to the customer strategy, and ensuring that our company is viewed as demonstrating better health outcomes to healthcare professionals and their patients. The representative demonstrates professionalism and leadership by modeling the required knowledge for successful execution of all Field Sales competencies. Territory Information This is a field‑based sales position that is responsible for covering the San Jose, California territory. The role also includes Sacramento, Stockton, Modesto, Reno, and Carson City, Nevada. The ideal location is within this territory or within a reasonable commuting distance to those workload centers. Travel is approximately 10% and varies based on the candidate’s location within the geography. Primary Responsibilities Communicates product information in a meaningful and relevant way, customizing discussions based on customer needs. Engages in informed discussions about products with HCP customers, knowing when/how to seek and provide additional information. Acts as the primary point of contact for select customer accounts, meeting with key personnel to understand practice structure, business model, influencers (IDS, ADAP, DOC, VAs, DOH), and to identify business opportunities. Coordinates with the customer team to develop customer strategy, outlining interactions, relationships, solutions, and potential offerings. Shares learnings and best practices from one customer to help others meet their needs. Demonstrates a focus on better health outcomes, considering the HCP and patient experience. Provides input into resource allocation decisions across customers. Identifies and selects programs/services available in the library of resources to address customer needs. Maintains current understanding of practice structure, business model, and network structure, making information available to stakeholders. Influences beyond their specific geography or product area. Embraces and maximizes new technological capabilities and channels to engage customers. Engages in all responsibilities and activities with the highest standards of ethics and integrity, emphasizing compliance with all relevant laws, policies, and regulations. HIV Specific Remains ahead of market trends, assesses dynamics, and makes proactive recommendations to meet future business needs. Asks strategic, insightful questions to obtain information on customer healthcare needs and collaborates on a customized business strategy. Identifies customer/market segments and industry conditions in the local market, with a special emphasis on Specialty Pharmacy. Drives results by managing the total Virology product portfolio, prioritizing opportunities, and executing through segmentation, targeting, and analysis. Articulates the complexities of the HIV payer environment and the role of each stakeholder. Develops and executes account plans, collaborating with the Virology Account Team and others to improve value for customers and patients. Embraces current and future technological capabilities and multi‑channel opportunities. Maximizes cross‑functional customer interactions and territory management with Virology and non‑Virology stakeholders. Forges and manages relationships with difficult‑to‑access customers in a “no sample” environment. Shows a business owner mindset during high‑change cycles, flexing across segments, portfolios, and matrix configurations. Maintains high compliance with all company policies and procedures. Position Qualifications – Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s Degree with at least 2 years of sales experience, or a high school diploma with at least 6 years of equivalent experience in sales, marketing, military, or healthcare/scientific fields. Valid driver’s license. Willing to travel within the assigned territory to visit customers in‑person and for national sales meetings/conferences. Preferred Experience and Skills Minimum of two (2) years in account management or sales with Infectious Disease customers, preferably HIV product or launch experience. Specialty sales experience across multiple markets with launch experience. Experience in pharma, biotech, or medical device sales. Experience developing and executing customer engagement plans. Proven success in establishing and maintaining relationships. Experience in a highly regulated industry with strict compliance requirements. Account experience in complex hospital systems, teaching institutions, and community hospitals. Skill in identifying account inter‑dependencies and building partnerships with stakeholders. Experience navigating complex payer environments and pharmacy stakeholders. Trusted representative status with disease state customers. Experience interacting with scientific thought leaders and building advocates. Ability to develop relationships in challenging or “no sampling” environments. Strong business acumen and account management skills. Relationships with key opinion leaders are preferred. Leadership, planning, organization, initiative, and ethical decision‑making skills. Salary Range $106,200.00 – $167,200.00 (commensurate with experience and qualifications). Eligible for annual bonus and long‑term incentive.
