Global Trade Classification Specialist - HS, HTS & ECCN

Medtronic seeks a Global Trade Analyst to manage product classification and customs compliance globally. The role involves classifying medical products according to HS, HTS, and ECCN standards, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to trade regulations.

Responsibilities

• Classify products according to global HS, local HTS, and ECCN requirements and customs rules
• Release blocked orders in SAP and identify items requiring export or re-export licenses
• Research global classification rules and precedents; create standard customs descriptions with rationale
• Maintain records and documentation supporting classification decisions within service level agreement timelines
• Collaborate with functional area experts and global trade teams to identify process improvement opportunities

Requirements

• High school diploma/equivalent with 4+ years relevant experience, or associate degree with 2+ years, or bachelor's degree with 1+ year
• Experience with ECCN classifications
• Proficiency in SAP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and product lifecycle management software
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills across organizational levels
• Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
• International trade function experience preferred
• Commodity classification experience preferred
