MACHINE OPERATOR I

Primary Objective: In broad terms, briefly state the major purpose or primary objective of this position. Operates forming equipment in the manufacturing process. Major Functions and Scope: Using brief narrative statements, describe each major function or responsibility explaining the scope of the function as appropriate. Monitors efficient operation of forming equipment. Inspects tile for quality defects. Performs minor adjustments to equipment as needed. Monitors equipment or processes and reports problems to supervisor. Follows ISO operating procedures. Keeps area safe, clean and organized. Performs other related duties as required. Knowledge, Experience, Competencies and Supervision: Describe the education, knowledge required, years of experience, specific skills and abilities required to do the position on a fully competent basis. Education and Knowledge: Describe the educational background and knowledge that are required . High school diploma or equivalent experience. Experience: Describe the work experience(s) that are required . 0 -1 year previous manufacturing/production experience. Competencies: Describe the specific skills required for this position in terms of technical, managerial, interpersonal skills and unique abilities. Good oral and written communications skills. Good record keeping skills. Good listening skills. Ability to understand and speak basic English. While performing the duties of this position, the associate is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this position includes close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this position, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures. The noise level is greater than 85 dBA on 12 hr. shifts.
