Lifeguard – Mount Vernon Country Club Job Location: Mt Vernon, OH 43050 Responsibilities Vacuum pool bottom, empty the automatic skimmer, and skim bugs and other debris from the surface to prepare the pool for daily use. Supervise swimmers at all times to ensure their safety. Tend to minor injuries such as small cuts and bruises to swimmers. Maintain cleanliness of changing rooms, bathrooms, and showers. Assist in organizing clinics and private swimming lessons for members as directed by the Swimming Pool Manager or instructors. Enforce rules of conduct. Check first‑aid inventory and report shortages. Set up pool equipment at the beginning of the day and return it to storage at the end of the day. Straighten the pool and cabana areas at the end of the day. Maintain all necessary records determined by the Swimming Pool Manager. Attend all meetings as directed by the Swimming Pool Manager. Contact emergency medical personnel when a serious injury occurs. Qualifications First Aid and CPR certification preferred. Knowledge of optimal swimming pool water chemistry, temperature, and cleanliness standards. Skilled swimmer. Attentiveness and awareness of the surrounding environment. Ability to enforce policies and procedures that contribute to safety. Physical Demands & Work Environment Requirements Must be a skilled swimmer and able to pull weight through the water.
