Certified Medical Office Assistant Podiatry

Base Pay $19.00 - $22.00 / Hour Employee Type FT Non-Exempt Essential Duties and Responsibilities Greet and check in patients in a courteous and professional manner. Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments. Verify patient demographic, insurance, and financial information. Register new patients and maintain accurate patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system. Collect copayments, fees, and other patient payments in accordance with organizational policies. Answer and direct incoming telephone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and relay messages appropriately. Assist with patient intake, including obtaining and updating medical information as needed. Coordinate referrals, authorizations, and follow-up appointments. Prepare and maintain patient charts, forms, and documentation. Process incoming and outgoing correspondence, faxes, and medical records requests. Assist providers and clinical staff with administrative tasks and patient flow coordination. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with HIPAA regulations. Support quality improvement initiatives and organizational performance goals. Ensure compliance with FQHC, HRSA, state, federal, and organizational policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a Medical Office Assistant, Medical Administrative Assistant, or related healthcare program preferred. Certification Current Certified Medical Office Assistant (CMOA) credential required or obtained within the timeframe established by the organization. Experience One (1) year of experience in a medical office, physician practice, community health center, or healthcare setting preferred. Experience with electronic health records and medical scheduling systems preferred. Bilingual abilities are a plus.
