The Specialist Laboratory Services works under the direction of the Manager or Supervisor Laboratory Services, Senior Manager for the clinical lab staff, and is responsible for technical procedures at the laboratory assigned.

Since its inception, QPS has been assisting pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies with their drug development efforts by providing a full range of services, including Early Phase Clinical and Phase II – IV Clinical Research services. The QPS location in Miami, Florida is a multi-specialty research center employing clinical research professionals, including board-certified physicians, in a 32,000 square foot space. The Job

• Read and understand the guidelines of the study protocols.
• Perform Venipuncture (Phlebotomists at PK lab).
• Label and QC specimen containers according to protocol specifications.
• Record specimen collection accurately.
• Process samples according to protocol specifications.
• Perform and record daily checks of temperatures, room, and refrigerators, take corrective actions if necessary, or notify the immediate supervisor.
• Maintains laboratory area in a clean, organized, and sanitary manner and manages appropriately the biohazard materials.
• Verify reagents and materials inventory and report to the supervisor to order on time.
• Verify all reagents and materials expiration dates.
• Perform and record daily and monthly maintenance of the laboratory equipment and take corrective actions if necessary.
• Follow the laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing.
• Any other tasks as requested by the Manager/Supervisor of Laboratory Services.

Requirements

• Combination of relevant education & experience that provides sufficient knowledge & skills High School Diploma, and/or o Demonstrated experience in a Clinical Research Laboratory.
• Working Knowledge of GCP’s.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Organizational skills and able to prioritize workload.
• Detail-oriented and able to multi-task.
• Computer skills.
• Accuracy in laboratory handling processing and shipment of specimens.
• Demonstrates good laboratory safety practices including universal precautions for blood-borne pathogens.
• Perform work within time required.
• Ability to identify problems, perform troubleshooting, and take corrective actions.
