This role involves assisting with patient vital signs, updating charts, compiling data, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards. You will provide direct patient care under supervision, contributing to a positive clinical environment.Key Responsibilities:Maintain patient confidentiality, dignity, and well-being at all times.Accurately document patient care and communications.Collect and process point-of-care, lab, and pathology samples following established protocols.Perform quality and safety checks on testing equipment and supplies.Provide patient education as directed by providers.Administer treatments, dressing changes, medications, and therapies under licensed provider orders.Assist providers during procedures and examinations.Prepare and handle reusable instruments for sterilization.Dispose of biohazard and pharmaceutical waste according to OSHA guidelines.Maintain a clean and safe patient care environment following infection prevention standards.Manage supply inventory in designated areas.Support front desk functions including greeting patients and scheduling appointments.Assist with coding and billing data entry for insurance and quality assurance.Coordinate with external healthcare partners to support patient care plans.Monitor and respond to electronic communications in a timely manner.Perform components of well visits and scheduled nursing visits as directed.Complete all required documentation prior to provider visits.Conduct high-level disinfection procedures as per policy.Flexibility to float to other clinics as needed.Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required.Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program with national certification (e.g., CMA, RMA, CCMA).Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.Preferred: Minimum of 1 year clinical experience in an outpatient setting.Skills and Abilities:Ability to recognize and respond to life-threatening situations promptly.Strong communication skills with patients, staff, and providers both in person and via phone.Physical ability to perform clinical tasks including standing, walking, bending, and lifting.Comfortable with potential exposure to blood and other infectious materials.
