The job details are as follows:As an Associate Data Scientist you will work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutionsResponsibilities:Maintain OCLC’s data platform with up-to-date, quality dataTranslate business problems to technical requirements to design rapid prototypes of reports and dashboardsBuild and maintain data models, reports, dashboards, and KPI/metrics from internal databasesWrite performant code that meets our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale data environment. Maintain and advocate for these standards through code review.Perform exploratory data analysis for quality assurance, reporting, and to inform the development of statistical and machine learning modelsImplement the DataOps philosophy in everything you doCreate and maintain documentation for data science initiatives and data resourcesCollaborate with Data Scientists to drive efficiencies for their workRequirements:Bachelor’s in a quantitative field (e.g., Engineering/CS/Math/Stats) + 2+ years in a data science role or Master’s + 1+ year in a data science role Proficient in SQL for data warehousesIntermediate Python proficiency (pandas/numpy, scikit-learn; visualization with matplotlib/seaborn/plotly) Experience applying statistical and machine learning methods; solid grounding in probability and statistical inference Experience with hypothesis testing and designing/analyzing experimentsExposure to cloud environments and software engineering best practices (e.g., Git, code reviews, testing) Strong data storytelling and communication skills; comfortable working in agile, collaborative teamsWorking Conditions: Normal office environment.ADA/EAA: The above statements cover what are generally believed to be principal and essential functions of this job.
