Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 18 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 18 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 months worked in the last 12 months.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, NG tubes, ostomy care, drains, wound care, continuous bladder irrigation, tube feeds, and cardiac rhythm interpretation.

Special Requests: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays; must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours.

Unit Details: Post-surgical patient population includes small bowel obstructions; general surgery cases including colectomy, colon/small bowel resections, nephrectomy, hysterectomy, mastectomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repairs, splenectomy, and thyroidectomy; kidney stones, pneumothorax, bariatric surgery, rib fractures, hip fractures, joint replacements, and cellulitis. RN ratios 1:4-6; surge times could be 1:7-8. Uses BD Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, Masimo monitors, and remote telemetry monitoring. Support includes NA+4, 24/7 charge nurse, 24/7 phlebotomy for peripheral blood draws, IV/VAT team, RT 24/7, hospitalist 24/7, intensivist 24/7, and resource nurse as staffing allows. Free Parking

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. No call. Travelers will work 75% of holidays. Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks.

Floating Requirements: Within region and scope of practice. Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH (peds only)); could float to any facility within the region as needed.
