About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Monday - Friday Hours per Shift: 10 hours (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM) Experience: Minimum 24 months of current operating room experience, with strong experience in cardiac, vascular, and thoracic procedures. General surgical experience required. License: Active Iowa/IA license or compact/multistate at time of submission Certifications: AHA/Active American Heart Association or ARC/AMERICAN RED CROSS BLS Must-Have: - 24 months of cardiovascular operating room experience - General circulating experience - Strong proficiency in cardiac, vascular, and thoracic cases - Basic general surgery circulating experience - Scrub experience including open heart scrubbing - EPIC electronic medical systems experience within the last 3 years Description: Position available for a Registered Nurse in the Cardiovascular Operating Room. The RN will work in a fast-paced operating room environment. The role requires rotating day off and holiday rotation. The RN will be responsible for circulating and scrubbing in procedures. Expect average caseload of 35-50 cases per day with less than 20 minutes for turnovers. The unit includes a variety of service lines including cardiac, neuro, and trauma. The RN will perform both scrub and circulatory duties as needed. Call responsibilities include weekends from Friday evening to Monday morning. Orientation period is included to familiarize the RN with general operating room procedures and circulatory flow. The RN will be expected to float across campuses as needed. Candidates must have a minimum of 24 months recent operating room experience, specifically in cardiovascular cases.
