Job Summary: A Dietary Aide assists in the preparation, serving, and cleanup of meals for residents in a nursing home. The role focuses on ensuring residents receive nutritious, safe, and properly prepared meals in accordance with dietary guidelines, physician orders, and state health regulations. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and portion food items according to menus and dietary plans Serve meals and beverages to residents, including those with special dietary needs (e.g., low sodium, diabetic, pureed diets) Assist residents who may need help eating (in some facilities) Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dining areas, and equipment Wash dishes, utensils, and food prep areas Follow proper food safety and sanitation guidelines (per Florida health standards) Store food properly and monitor temperatures Work with dietary staff and healthcare team to meet residents’ nutritional needs Report any issues with food quality or resident intake Requirements/Qualifications of Dietary Aide: High School Diploma or Equivalent At least one (1) year Skilled Nursing experience preferred. Effective verbal and written English communication skills. Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of company objectives. Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.
