Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive speech-language pathology services for inpatient and outpatient needs, assessing and interpreting evaluations for patients from birth through geriatric ages; plan and administer medically based therapy and set realistic goals in collaboration with physicians.
- Deliver specialty services as appropriate, including swallowing evaluations and instrumental assessments (VFSS/MBS, FEES), cognitive and voice therapy, pediatric speech-language therapy, and pediatric feeding evaluations.
- Document results of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in the electronic health record; adjust treatment plans based on patient progress and physician guidance.
- Educate patients, families, and staff on therapy techniques and home exercise programs to promote carryover; provide in-service training and staff education as needed.
- Collaborate with the Physical Rehabilitation team, physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health professionals; participate in quality improvement, risk management, and safety initiatives; maintain credentialing and scope-of-practice compliance.
- Participate in biweekly orientation sessions and ensure adherence to ASHA standards, state licensure requirements, and applicable facility policies.

Requirements
- Education: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program.
- Licensure: valid, current, unrestricted SLP license from Arizona or another U.S. state/DC/PR.
- Certification: ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP); Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience: minimum of 2 years as a licensed SLP; experience with pediatric (birth–5) and adult populations, including dysphagia and neuro-related disorders.
- Skills: ability to work effectively in inpatient and outpatient settings; competent with electronic health records and multidisciplinary teamwork.
- Orientation: willingness to participate in ongoing orientation every two weeks.
