Cummins Behavioral Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School‑Based Life Skills Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will work directly with school‑aged students to provide life skills education and support, fostering social, emotional, and behavioral development. By collaborating with school staff and families, you will play a vital role in empowering students to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential. We are looking for applicants who are creative, passionate, and fun to engage persons with diverse backgrounds. Currently, open position(s) exist in Putnam County (Greencastle, IN). Primary Responsibilities Deliver engaging life skills interventions and strategies on topics such as communication, self‑management, decision‑making, conflict resolution, and self‑regulation. Provide individual and family sessions to support students in developing essential life skills. Primarily work with students during the school day in the classroom or school office; before/after school and early evening hours will also be utilized to support students and families either at school or in the student’s home. Collaborate and regularly communicate with teachers, counselors, and school administrators to identify and address student needs. Maintain accurate records of student progress and program outcomes within an electronic health record. Serve as a liaison between schools, families, and community resources to connect students and families with additional support services. Schedule and location of services may vary during school break times to accommodate students and families. Promote a positive, inclusive environment that fosters student growth and well‑being. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, or a related degree in the human service field is required. Associate's degree in human services or related field and at least (2) years previous direct care experience in social services, behavioral health, school‑based settings, etc.; High school graduate or GED and at least four (4) years previous direct care experience in social services, behavioral health, school‑based settings, etc. Two years of post‑bachelor's work experience in mental health is preferred.
