Qualifications MS, BS, or BA degree in architecture or a similar field 5+ years related experience May be licensed Strong knowledge of software, especially Revit, AutoCAD, Excel, Word Learning current building codes including IBC/IRC, CBC/CRC Excellent communication skills with personnel at all levels of the company and with external agencies, contractors, consultants, and clients Requirements Physical: standing, kneeling, bending, and sitting for long periods; carrying; use of hands, arms, legs, eyes, ears, and voice; ability to negotiate rugged terrain on foot and drive a vehicle Physical appearance: must be presentable Mental: good design and problem‑solving skills Language: reading, writing, spelling, and clear communication in English; ability to respond to inquiries and complaints Your Role Architect/Drafter Fully competent in all conventional aspects of architecture Independently performs a variety of assignments for moderate‑size projects Performs analyses of design, planning, and occupancy studies and limited design layouts Prepares project specifications, compiling and analyzing relevant data Writes reports and specifications Reviews completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations Designs and produces plans in compliance with client, HOA, design approval, and regulatory agency requirements After gaining more experience (≈6 years), responsible for specific technical design aspects of assigned major projects, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions that best meet client needs Provides professional architectural consultation for planning, design, and coordination of large complex projects Applies advanced architectural concepts and designs independently Carries out complex or novel assignments requiring new or improved techniques and procedures May provide technical guidance to less experienced architects or architectural staff Handles secretarial and clerical services related to operations Associate or full project manager When newer, assists Principal or Project Manager with managing the communications and organization of multiple smaller projects After gaining more experience (≈6 years), manages one or more smaller projects with minimal delegation Coordinates all aspects of assigned projects, estimates scope of work, and prepares strategic plans for project success Responsible for coordination of all project efforts, administrative and technical, to ensure efficient and cost‑effective execution of assigned projects MAY serve as primary client liaison, bridging schedule, budgets, and scope of work to completion and client satisfaction Actively manages client budgets, schedules, programs, project communications and documentation, office administrative tasks, and project team assignments Estimates fees, determines scope of work, and prepares proposals and contracts Business development (after more experience) May estimate fees, determine scope of work, and prepare proposals and contracts with oversight of Principal Architect May meet or talk directly with prospective clients to learn project goals and discuss our role in working with them Salary and Work Arrangements Estimated hourly wage (dependent on experience): $33.92 - $44.68. Full time position; remote work and hybrid remote work available, but must be able to work in the Truckee office at least once a week. CA & NV residents only.
