Job Title: Maintenance Technician Job Description
The Maintenance Technician performs preventive maintenance and mechanical and electrical repairs on brake presses, lasers, CNC machines, and other fabrication equipment. This role focuses on troubleshooting machinery issues, ensuring equipment reliability, and supporting efficient manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on brake presses, lasers, CNC machines, and other fabrication equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on a variety of fabrication and machining equipment, including CNC lathes and mills.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems on production machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
• Use precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to verify proper machine operation and component specifications.
• Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to perform accurate repairs and adjustments.
• Support CNC fabrication maintenance activities, including setup, adjustment, and optimization of equipment.
• Assist with basic CNC programming or setup tasks related to maintenance and equipment performance, as needed.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used to maintain accurate service records.
• Collaborate with production and machining teams to identify equipment issues and prioritize maintenance tasks.
• Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working on mechanical and electrical systems.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience performing preventive maintenance on industrial machinery, including brake presses, lasers, CNC equipment, and other fabrication machines.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills on production and machining equipment.
• Ability to diagnose and repair electrical issues on manufacturing machinery.
• Proficiency working with CNC-related equipment such as lathes and mills in a maintenance capacity.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Skill using precision measurement tools, including calipers and micrometers.
• Demonstrated ability to work safely around mechanical and electrical systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with CNC fabrication maintenance, including setup and optimization, is highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with basic CNC programming concepts is a plus.
• Formal technical schooling or vocational training in maintenance, machining, or a related field is preferred.
• Willingness to participate in paid training for setups, programming, and other technical skills.
• Interest in ongoing development of both technical skills and life skills through company-supported training.

Work Environment
This role operates in a manufacturing and fabrication environment working with brake presses, lasers, CNC machines, and other production equipment. The position follows a second-shift schedule from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, on a four 10-hour day workweek. The shift includes a premium pay differential. The workplace promotes a fun and energetic culture with events, team activities, and a strong emphasis on sports, music, and automotive interests. Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grafton, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
