Regular Education Bus Driver

Warren Township High School is looking for dependable people to come join our team. Regular and Special Education bus drivers within our district are classified as a part time employees, with a guaranteed 4 hours a day. Experience is not necessary but the following are required: Minimum of 21 years of age Drivers License for a consecutive three years with no suspensions or breaks Background check (completed by district) Physical (completed by district) Starting pay: $26.23 per hour, higher with experience; paid training Benefits: Complete benefit package Bonuses: Referral/ Sign On

JOB SUMMARY:

Provide safe and equal transportation to all students

REPORTS TO:

• Director of Transportation

QUALIFICATION:

1. Obtain proper license classification 2. Demonstrate aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities 3. Display responsible leadership as a role model for the students 4. Demonstrate positive public relation skills when dealing with residents and parents 5. Display professional and defensive driving skills at all times

GENERAL DUTIES:

1. Obey all traffic laws 2. Observe all mandatory Federal and State safety laws/regulations for school buses 3. Maintain discipline when students are on bus 4. Report undisciplined students to the proper authority 5. Keep assigned bus clean 6. Keep assigned bus at least half full of fuel prior to parking 7. Keep assigned schedule 8. Follow the proper procedures in the event of absence or lateness 9. Perform required pre-trip inspection and complete proper form 10. Perform required post trip inspection following each run 11. Exercise responsible leadership when on in-district or out-of-district charters 12. Transport only authorized students 13. Discharge students only at authorized stops 14. Report all accidents and complete all required reports 15. Enforce and follow all policies established by the Board of Education 16. Perform all other duties as assigned

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• This is a 9 month position
• Salaries, benefits and work year are established by the Board of Education

EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of support service personnel.
