Summary:
The Recruiting Manager works as part of a team to staff qualified craft to work on large industrial construction projects throughout the region. Due to the nature of this position, you must possess excellent organizational skills, be a detail oriented, self-starter, and have an enthusiasm for excellence for your work, as there will be numerous strict deadline requirements in this job. Interaction with JT THORPE internal managers and external customers will be required, so excellent people skills are critical.
The Recruiting Manager role is vital to the success of our project team, contributing to continuous improvement processes, enhancing project team communications, and strengthening client satisfaction. The Recruiting Manager will support the manpower functions. This may involve weekend coverage helping staff in all areas of a region when needed.
The customers for the Recruiting Manager are the JT THORPE Project Managers and their teams. The Recruiting Manager will work to support the Project Management Team.
Responsibilities:
Recruiting/Staffing Projects:
- Interview and hire qualified union craft for scaffolding, insulation, and/or other crafts as needed.
- Coordinate staffing of projects with craft capabilities that match project requirements.
- Fully utilize the proprietary software/HRIS programs to ensure personnel are accounted for and training records are maintained.
- Communicate and work with Unions at a local / regional level.
- Prepare various weekly/monthly Craft Loading reports & databases.
- Track employees through the onboarding process.
- Updating candidate profiles in manpower database
- Provide support to candidates during application/hiring process.
- Ensure standards of the Manpower Checklist are met on a regular basis.
Training:
- Coordinate training and mobilization requirements of craft workers to job sites. This includes JT THORPE Safety Training, Drug Screens, Background Checks, customer required training, etc.
- Assist with annual workforce equipment and refresher safety training.
- Assist with scheduling and implementing craft specific training.
- Travel to work sites to assist with onboarding and craft evaluation as needed.
- Expected travel to the job site is up to 25%.
Qualifications & Skills:
- At least 2 years’ experience as a staffing/recruiting professional.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while reprioritizing workload and switching between tasks as needed. This requires excellent organizational skills, time-management, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Resourceful with the ability to learn new tasks easily.
- Strong computer background, including proficiency with MS Office / Excel and data entry.
- Ability to work with employees of diverse backgrounds and experiences.
- Ability to communicate effective (verbally and written) in English and Spanish is required.
- This is not a remote position. Employees are required to work on-site and may travel up to 25% of the time.
- Must be able to pass a federal background check and obtain a TWIC Card
- Drug testing (DISA) is required.
- Experience with staffing Industrial Construction projects preferred.
- Experience with staffing in high-volume, project-based environments preferred.
Education:
Associate degree in business, communications or other related field, equivalent related work experience as recruiting/staffing professional, or a combination thereof. Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
