In this vital role the Associate Director, Global Insights is responsible for facilitating decision enablement across the Commercial organization by leading insight generation via primary market research, strategic secondary analytics and synthesis of internal knowledge.The individual in this role must have a consulting-type mindset and willing to solve ambiguous problems. They will integrate multiple sources and provide strategic partnership to support Therapeutic Area and Disease strategy, product strategy, brand building, and/or milestones for internal governance. This role will span a range of products in the Amgen portfolio and large global markets.Flexible Commuter role to Thousand Oaks, CA or Deerfield, IL office. You will work on-site 2-3 days a week.Job Responsibilities include:Independently translates unstructured business issues/requests into action plans and projects that result in high quality deliverables that impact the businessIntegrate insights from a variety of sources (market research, competitive intelligence, secondary data) to address business needs and influence critical go/no-go decisionLead design and facilitation of internal workshops to build a shared cross-functional understanding of current hypotheses, key gaps and forward-looking action plansPartners with Therapeutic Area leadership to inform and influence therapeutic area strategyPlan, design and conduct primary market research for multiple assets in various stages of product lifecycle to enable strategic decision makingConduct ad hoc strategic secondary analytics to inform strategic decisionsClearly communicate ideas and insights via written or verbal presentation and influences leadership to incorporate findings and insightsLead cross-region / cross-portfolio initiatives in collaboration with key stakeholders in global, regional, and local commercial teamsSet priorities, develop and manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneouslyWhat we expect of youWe are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The professional we seek is collaborative with these qualifications.Basic Qualifications:Doctorate degree and 2 years of commercial insights or consulting experienceORMaster’s degree and 4 years of commercial insights or consulting experienceORBachelor’s degree and 6 years of commercial insights or consulting experienceORAssociate’s degree and 10 years of commercial insights or consulting experienceORHigh school diploma / GED and 12 years of commercial insights or consulting experiencePreferred Qualifications:Ability to extract, analyze, treat, and consolidate data from different sources in clear and concise formats with rigor and high level of accuracyStrong knowledge of drug development the pharmaceutical industryExperience leading primary market researchAbility to think strategically to support key business decisionsAbility to work collaboratively in team-based environment across different functional groupsExcellent presentation skills with ability to explain complex concepts and controversial findings clearly to a variety of audiences, including senior managementSkilled in prioritizing multiple responsibilities, priorities, tasks, and projects simultaneouslyExperience with commonly used biopharmaceutical industry datasets and databasesExperience managing multiple stakeholders, prioritizing across a multitude of responsibilities, and allocating bandwidth to drive maximum impactPrior experience in strategy/management consulting in the biopharma industry preferably through a lead roleWhat you can expect of usAs we work to develop treatments that take care of others, we also work to care for your professional and personal growth and well-being.
