Credentialing Coordinator

Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Credentialing Specialist to support physician credentialing activities across multiple healthcare facilities and health systems. This individual will be responsible for managing the full credentialing lifecycle, ensuring providers are properly credentialed, enrolled, and maintained in compliance with facility, payer, and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate is a senior-level credentialing professional who can operate independently, manage a high-volume workload, and effectively coordinate credentialing efforts across multiple hospitals, providers, and states.

Responsibilities

Manage the end-to-end physician credentialing process, including initial credentialing, recredentialing, and privileging.

Coordinate credentialing activities with hospitals, healthcare systems, and other provider networks.

Maintain accurate credentialing records and ensure compliance with all applicable requirements and deadlines.

Track and monitor applications, renewals, expiring licenses, certifications, and other required documentation.

Serve as a liaison between providers, facilities, and credentialing organizations to resolve issues and expedite approvals.

Prioritize and manage a large volume of credentialing activities simultaneously.

Ensure data integrity and timely updates within credentialing databases and tracking systems.

Support ongoing audits and compliance initiatives related to provider credentialing.

Skills and Requirements

3+ years of physician credentialing experience.

Experience credentialing physicians across multiple hospitals and healthcare systems.

Proven ability to manage a high-volume workload involving numerous providers and positions simultaneously.

Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and work independently.

Excellent communication and follow-through skills. Multi-state physician credentialing experience.

Experience working in large, complex healthcare organizations.

CPCS, CPMSM, or other credentialing certifications are a plus.

Experience supporting 40+ providers or credentialing assignments concurrently.
