The Material Area Supervisor is responsible for leading hourly teams that unload, store, and deliver material to support production in an automotive manufacturing assembly plant. Responsibilities include but not limited to:/pulliLead the safety, delivery, cost, quality, and morale of hourly work teams./liliDevelop team leaders to meet corporate guidelines and transform existing material delivery processes to increase productivity and reduce manufacturing costs utilizing the World Class Manufacturing process./liliEnsure inventory and record integrity and maintain a positive working relationship with both management and union represented employees./liliManage multiple work teams in a fast paced, high volume unionized manufacturing environment./liliResponsible for coordinating daily team activities to achieve business metrics and implementing World Class Manufacturing (WCM) tools and processes as it related to material flow./liliRequired to oversee and develop highly functioning work teams, comprised of Team Leaders and Team Members and practice Leadership Principles./li/ulpRequirements:/pulliBachelors degree required./liliExcellent organizational, written and oral communication./liliExcellent interpersonal skills./liliSupervisory experience preferred./liliPrevious related supervisory experience./liliDemonstrated ability to coach/mentor/develop team members./liliPrevious experience working in a union environment./liliStrong background in LEAN manufacturing systems./liliProficient in Microsoft Office applications and Google Suite applications./liliMust have valid drivers license./liliOnsite MFG Physical Requirements:/liulliWork different shifts and/or work weekends./liliWork in hot and/or cold environments./liliWork around heavy equipment or manufacturing machinery./liliWear safety equipment such as safety glasses, sleeves, earplugs and steel-toed shoes./liliStand or walk for long periods of time each day./liliFrequently bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 40 pounds./liliWork in tight or closed in spaces./liliRegularly climb ladder/man lift/stairs/crawl under vehicles if necessary./liliStrong verbal communication skills./liliAbility to work in a team environment./li/ul/ul/div
