Academic General Internal Medicine Physician  

\n

Tufts Medical Center Division of General Internal Medicine is seeking an  Academic General Internal Medicine / Primary Care Physician to join the team at our flagship academic practice in downtown  Boston . 

\n

Division of Internal Medicine Overview:

\n

Exceptional Healthcare:  Tufts Medical Center is a full-service quaternary-care academic medical center supporting an extensive community referral network and serving patients from throughout New England.

\n

Community:  Our 40,000-patient academic primary care practice serves diverse patients from across Boston including the nearby Chinatown community. We are especially proud of a tradition of caring for vulnerable and marginalized patient populations including LGBTQ+ persons as well as linguistic and racial minorities.  

\n

Clinical Partners:  Our multidisciplinary practice encourages team-based care involving advanced practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and administrative support staff who provide our patients and their families with comprehensive preventive care, urgent care treatment for various chronic and acute conditions, and referrals to our specialist colleagues.

Cutting-Edge Research:  The Division is a center of excellence for health literacy and health equity research, including clinical faculty with expertise in advanced data analytics, decision analysis, quality improvement, and patient safety. We collaborate with colleagues throughout the medical center, at Tufts University, and across the world.

Responsibilities:

\n

The Academic General Internist will serve as primary caregiver for a panel of adult primary care patients.

\n

\n
• \n

  There are significant opportunities to  teach medical and other health professional students, to precept internal medicine residents, and to serve as attending physician on the inpatient general medicine or geriatrics services.

\n
• \n

  We offer opportunities for  professional development of clinician-educators and for mentorship and support of aspiring clinician-investigators.

\n
• \n

  This role is suitable for mid-career clinicians interested in working in an academic environment, or for early-career physicians looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity.

Requirements: 

\n

\n
• \n

  You have a passion for primary care and are are excited to work with a wide range of patients and clinicians to champion world class models of care.

\n
• \n

  Board Eligibility / Certification in Internal Medicine is required.

\n
• \n

  Additional training or expertise in geriatrics, LGBTQ+ health or addiction medicine is a plus but not essential. 

\n
• \n

  Current medical license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is preferred.

\n
• \n

  Bilingual (Chinese) or multilingual ability is a plus. 

\n

Compensation:

\n

Tufts Medicine offers a competitive salary commensurate with academic training and practice experience. A Tufts University School of Medicine appointment will be offered commensurate with academic qualifications. You will also receive Substantive 401A retirement plan, CME Funds and Time Away, Generous Vacation and Holiday Policy.
