Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Middle School Special Education Teacher and make a difference supporting students in both resource and co-taught classroom settings. With an immediate opening for the remainder of the 2026–2027 school year, you’ll work alongside dedicated general education colleagues to provide tailored services that empower students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Your background includes:
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist I) endorsement
- Experience or passion for supporting middle schoolers in a special education environment
- Proven ability to customize instruction, implement accommodations, and document student progress
- Strong collaboration skills to partner with teachers, specialists, and school staff
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive classroom culture
Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Delivering specialized education services within both resource and co-taught classes
- Implementing accommodations and modifications as outlined in student IEPs
- Monitoring, documenting, and communicating progress toward educational goals
- Contributing insightfully to IEP meetings and actively shaping individualized supports
- Maintaining organized and accurate records as required for compliance
- Providing targeted academic and behavioral interventions tailored to student needs
- Creating a supportive environment that encourages engagement, social-emotional development, and academic success
This full-time contract position follows a Monday–Friday schedule for the school year, with hours from 7:20 AM to 2:50 PM (3:05 PM on Wednesdays). You’ll play a vital role in the lives of young learners while collaborating with a passionate, student-focused school community.
