Assistant Principal - Elementary School

The four stellar programs available at Holy Family Ministries: 1) Little Learners Academy - Early learning education, 2) Holy Family School - Education for K-8, 3) Adventures in Learning - afterschool and summer camp, and 4) The Peace Exchange - youth leadership and violence prevention program. JOB OVERVIEW Drive student achievement and school excellence by partnering closely with the Head of Schools and instructional staff to advance Holy Family School’s mission and core values. Serve as an instructional coach and mentor to teachers and teacher assistants, fostering professional growth, strong classroom practices, and a collaborative culture. Cultivate a welcoming, inclusive school environment that actively engages families and strengthens parent involvement in student success. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Instructional Leadership: Provide ongoing support, formal professional development, feedback, and coaching to teachers to enhance instructional practices and student engagement. Facilitate staff professional development sessions focused on effective teaching strategies, curriculum implementation, and student learning outcomes. School Culture and Climate: Foster a positive and inclusive school culture by implementing character development programs that promote self-identity and essential character strengths. Establish and oversee a behavior management system that includes meaningful incentives and consequences. Collaborate with teachers and parents to develop and implement individualized behavior interventions for students facing challenges. Work closely with counseling services to refer students with significant behavioral needs to appropriate support services. Monitor and analyze student attendance, discipline records, uniform compliance, implementing proactive systems and structures to address areas of improvement. Design incentives to reinforce positive school culture and encourage habits of success. Maintain accurate records of student progress. Coordinate and approve field trips and select school-wide activities to enhance students' learning experiences. Supervise daily school entry, breakfast, recess, lunch, dismissal, and transitions to ensure a positive and orderly environment. Supervise scheduling of staff for early morning, recess and lunch supervision. Talent Management: Collaborate with the School Principal in evaluating teachers' performance and providing constructive feedback. Support the School Principal in recruitment, interviewing, and selection processes for teaching positions. Develop professional growth plans for faculty, aligning professional development opportunities with their specific areas of growth in conjunction with the Head of Schools. Ensure adherence to school policies and procedures among faculty and staff. Supervise, manage, and evaluate instructional aides and ensure growth through professional development and tracking results. Collaborate with Administration to promote student growth, development, and discipline. Promote positive employee relationships and maintain strong morale throughout the school by monitoring key data and implementing improvement initiatives. School Administration: Actively participate in regular administrative team and leadership team meetings. Collaborate closely with the School Principal to cultivate a high-achievement academic culture. Serve as a role model for the Holy Family School values, exhibiting strong leadership and engagement within the school community. Perform any other duties as assigned by the principal to support academic, social-emotional, and cultural growth at Holy Family School. Develop and maintain school safety procedures. Skills and Characteristics Possess a work ethic and personal belief system that aligns with the mission and vision of Holy Family Ministries Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact and forge relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members. Expertise in classroom management strategies and the ability to articulate these effective strategies to teachers, instructional aides, and direct reports. Proven track record of meeting extremely high standards for student achievement Knowledge of various IT systems as the IT coordinator will report to the Assistant Principal QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION Teachers Performance Evaluator License Experience as a School Administrator Minimum of 5 years teaching experience Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills Ability to multi-task, excellent organization, and time management skills Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills Capable of demonstrating compassion and empathy Able to uphold rules and regulations Strong IT technical skills preferred Flexibility to work in different environments, including but not limited to: classrooms, offices, buses, field trips, parent-teacher-faculty meetings, and official functions WORK ENVIRONMENT Able to work indoors and occasionally outdoors. Role requires sitting, standing, squatting, kneeling, seeing, hearing, and the ability to lift a minimum of 10lbs. #J-18808-Ljbffr
