Step into a meaningful role supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher in a vibrant and inclusive academic environment near Danbury, CT. This full-time, contract opportunity runs from now through the end of the school year, offering you a chance to make a real impact for K-4th grade learners. The position follows a standard school schedule from 7:30 AM to 3:50 PM, with some flexibility available for applicants who may need to leave earlier.
Your day will include both push-in and pull-out instructional support, working alongside dedicated staff and students in Kindergarten through fourth grade. Whether you are licensed for only one grade or all four, your expertise is valuable for this assignment. Professionalism is a focus: business casual attire is requested Monday through Thursday, with a relaxed option for jeans and a professional top on Fridays.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (applicants with certification for any K-4 grade level are encouraged)
- Experience or strong interest working at the elementary or kindergarten level
- Ability to build rapport with students, collaborate with colleagues, and adapt instruction to individual needs
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Availability to begin as soon as possible through the end of the academic year
- Willingness to fulfill both push-in and pull-out teaching responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction for students with diverse learning needs
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers and support staff
- Monitor, assess, and document student progress
- Foster a supportive, engaging classroom atmosphere
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student development
