Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Location: South Carolina

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Nights: 3x12-hour shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. Every other weekend and on-call required (two 12-hour shifts in a 6-week period).

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to mothers and newborns in a fast-paced environment. The RN will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing and implementing care plans, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in labor and delivery.
• Monitor fetal heart rates and assess maternal vital signs.
• Assist with labor and delivery processes, including both vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
• Provide education and support to patients and families regarding care plans and procedures.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (Epic).
• Implement standard safety protocols for both maternal and neonatal care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery nursing experience.
• Current South Carolina RN license or multi-state/compact RN license.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Beginner, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM, NRP.
• Preferred certifications: AWHONN Advanced, STABLE.
• Epic experience and comfort with couplet care or transition nursery are preferred.
