Emergency Veterinarian – Ethos ER Immerse Mentorship Program – Wichita, Kansas (6‑Month Off‑Site Training) Job Overview Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital of Wichita (VESH) is seeking veterinarians passionate about working in emergency medicine for a 6‑month training and mentorship program. Candidates should be team oriented, driven, reflective, and reliable to train with us and transition into an ER position at VESH. VESH is a gold‑standard ER and specialty hospital with in‑house dentistry and surgery specialists, advanced diagnostic tools like CT, and minimally invasive surgical capabilities. The caseload is diverse and fast‑paced, focusing exclusively on canine and feline patients. Training Location VRC Specialty Hospital is an AAHA‑accredited specialty and 24‑hour emergency veterinary hospital open 365 days a year. They offer cardiology, dentistry & oral surgery, emergency & critical care, internal medicine, rehabilitative and integrative medicine, radiology and surgery (orthopedic, neuro and soft tissue), medical oncology and neurology services. Emergency doctors here collaborate with a robust team of DVM specialists and support staff and work in a fast‑paced, well‑established environment. The Ethos ER Immerse Training Program The ER Immerse Program prepares veterinarians for a sustainable and satisfying career in emergency medicine. It centers around a curriculum of core competencies essential for an emergency veterinarian, with focus on clinical knowledge, client and team member communication, professional skills, and life/work integration. The program uses a hybrid training approach incorporating simulation‑based didactic components into authentic training experiences with live patients. Program Duration / Commitment 6‑month training program (starting either Feb 1, 2026 or July 15, 2026) 1‑year commitment as an ER clinician following training Location Home hospital – VESH Wichita – 5618 W 21st St N, Wichita, KS 67205 USA Training location – VRC Malvern – 340 Lancaster Ave, Malvern, PA 19355 Program Highlights 5‑day work week consisting of 4.5 clinical days, 0.5 didactic day, and 2 days off each week (typically consecutive) Rotates with other specialty services during the training program Always works with a dedicated mentor on shifts No on‑call Competency‑based curriculum that includes asynchronous learning on Vetbloom and weekly live virtual didactic rounds Regular live continuing education events led by specialists and experienced emergency doctors Benefits Ethos Veterinary Health provides a comprehensive benefits program including medical, dental, vision, a 401(k) with employer match, and paid time off (including sick time) for all eligible employees.
