Anesthesiologist Opportunity

Anesthesiologist opportunity at UPMC Hamot with a 26 weeks on and 26 weeks off schedule. The UPMC Hamot Medical Center is a regional tertiary-care medical facility, referral hub, and Level II trauma center based in Erie, PA. With over 400 beds, the hospital provides an extensive range of inpatient and outpatient services for the community. UPMC Hamot has almost 4,000 employees, including over 650 members on the medical team.

Responsibilities include assisting in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department, responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures. Pre-anesthesia assessment, obtaining and/or verifying patient consent, discussing anesthetic options and risks with the patient, induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia, monitoring of the patient's physiological condition, and performance of clinical intervention as needed.

Requirements include an M.D./D.O. degree from an accredited College of Medicine, ECFMG and FLEX completion, completion of an approved residency in anesthesia, and currently licensed as a physician.

Erie, PA is located on the south shore of Lake Erie, one of the five Great Lakes. The fifth-largest city in Pennsylvania, Erie is 90 minutes from both Buffalo, NY, and Pittsburgh, PA.
