Our success comes from a responsive management style and a service philosophy based on integrity, competence and compassion.The Psychiatric Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) is certified and licensed by the State Board of Nursing in the state of New Jersey to provide psychiatric services under the direction of the collaborating physician. Functions in an expanded role as a professional nurse, performing acts of medical diagnosis and prescription of medical therapeutics or corrective measures, in collaboration with a physician. This individual must be able to demonstrate competency and completion of the criteria listed in this description as well as criteria set forth in credentialing and privileging process as set forth in the Medical Staff Bylaws and Medical Staff Rules and Regulation. The CRNP must be available to work in all treatment settings, treat dually diagnosed patients and provide care for the population congruent to their certification.Qualifications:Effectively handles crisis situations in a non-challenging manner using communications and mannerisms intended to de-escalate the situationOn an as needed basis handles evaluation and treatment of inpatients for changes in medical and or psychiatric condition and provides acute care or triage as appropriateInterventions are based on scientific principles, theoretical knowledge and clinical expertiseWorks within scope of licensure and certificationAssist physicians in completing discharge summaries in a timely mannerPossesses the knowledge, skills and ability to use appropriate techniques and procedures of seclusion and restraintDemonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, developmental, psychological, educational, and safety-related criteria based on age/population servedFollows Standard Precautions, Infection Control and Safety policiesFulfills employee health requirements including, but not limited to, annual PPDDemonstrates ability to ensure safe environment of careCompletes required education and trainingsAdheres to Department Specific / HR / Safety / EOC / Infection Control and all other appropriate Policies & Procedures of the Hospital at all timesBachelor's DegreeLicensed RN and a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner, meeting all requirements set forth by the State of New Jersey3-5 Years of experience and 1 year Psychiatric Nursing Experience
