Own the overarching quality strategy for Payments Acceptance Build automated guardrails into pipelines for rigorous end-to-end validation Architect and execute high-concurrency load, stress, and latency testing Ensure payment platforms do not drop transactions or degrade in latency during peak periods Integrate AI-assisted developer tools and agentic workflows into test creation, synthetic data generation, and automated edge-case analysis Build high-performance emulators for external systems such as card networks and partner integrations Implement robust telemetry and telemetry-driven test environments using Prometheus and Grafana Monitor system behavior under load and drive blameless post-mortems and proactive bug prevention Partner with feature teams to build automated testing Golden Paths Mentor team members on quality engineering best practices Requirements 5+ years of software engineering experience focusing on quality engineering, test automation framework design, and performance testing for complex, high-throughput distributed systems Deep hands-on experience building automated test suites in Java, Python, Go, or TypeScript Strong command of REST API testing and microservices validation Proven track record designing and running performance, stress, and load tests at scale using tools like JMeter, Locust, Gatling, or k6 Direct experience embedding automated quality gates into modern CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions and GitOps Experience with Docker and Kubernetes/EKS in public cloud environments, especially AWS Experience testing event-driven architectures such as Kafka and SQS Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, data consistency, and transactional integrity under load Innate drive to eliminate manual friction, proactively seek edge cases, and solve complex quality challenges end-to-end Experience with tokenization, payment processing, or security products (nice to have) BA/BS degree (nice to have) Domain expertise in 3DS, Network Tokens, Account Updater, or payment gateway integrations (nice to have) Experience with AI developer tools, LLM-generated test automation pipelines, or synthetic test data generation (nice to have) Practical knowledge of PCI-DSS and SOC2 compliance and cloud security constraints (nice to have) Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in quality engineering and test automation, with a strong focus on performance testing for high-throughput distributed systems.
