This ad is posted to create a pool of qualified physical therapists. Candidates who meet Maryland licensure requirements and the hiring needs of the system, may be referred to interview for specific vacancies as they occur. The wage range for this position is a salary between $62,558 and $127,334 based on education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Working knowledge of basic principles of physical therapy and of human behavior norms, abnormalities and deficits; the application of physical therapy principles and practices as these apply to handicapped children, laws and bylaws covering the education of handicapped children and the education system of the state.
• Ability to treat children and relate the program to that of other service providers within the educational setting and the home.
• Skill in oral and written communications.
• Excellent human relations skills.

Education, Training, and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in physical therapy. The school must have been approved in the year of graduation by the Council of Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association.
• Additional instruction in neurodevelopmental training, PL 94-142, Maryland Bylaw 13-04-01, and the role of the physical therapist in the public school is desirable.
