Group Aerobics Instructor - Peterson Space Force Base Fitness Center

Job Summary

Viakorp is seeking qualified and energetic Group Aerobics Instructors to provide professional fitness instruction services at the Peterson Space Force Base Fitness & Sports Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado . The instructor will lead engaging group exercise classes, promote safe fitness practices, and provide high-quality instruction to military personnel, their families, and authorized fitness center participants.

The ideal candidate should have experience leading group fitness classes, strong communication skills, and the ability to create a safe, motivating, and professional workout environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead scheduled group aerobic and fitness classes in accordance with established class requirements.

• Provide professional instruction and demonstrate proper exercise techniques.

• Conduct classes ranging from approximately 45 to 60 minutes in duration.

• Provide appropriate music for aerobic/group cycling classes while ensuring content is clean and suitable for the facility environment.

• Ensure participants follow proper safety procedures and fitness center rules.

• Demonstrate proper use of exercise equipment and promote safe workout practices.

• Monitor participants during classes and provide guidance to prevent injuries.

• Maintain a positive, motivating, and inclusive class environment.

• Adjust instruction methods to accommodate different fitness levels and participant abilities.

• Coordinate with Fitness Center management regarding schedules, class needs, and operational requirements.

• Notify management promptly regarding any class cancellations or scheduling issues.

• Maintain professional conduct and represent the organization positively while working with facility patrons.

Qualifications

• Previous experience teaching group fitness, aerobics, cycling, or similar exercise classes.

• Strong knowledge of exercise techniques, safety practices, and fitness principles.

• Ability to confidently lead and motivate groups of participants.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage scheduled classes reliably.

• Current fitness instructor certification preferred.

• CPR/AED certification preferred.
