Product Manager II - SQL & Sheets Growth

Datadog SQL (DDSQL) and Sheets are two of the newest products within Graphing, Datadog’s most-used product area. Together, they give customers flexible ways to query, combine, analyze, visualize, and share data across Datadog.This role owns the product direction and user experience for both products. Your goal is to help users move from raw data to trustworthy answers quickly—whether they prefer writing SQL, working in a spreadsheet, or building visual analyses.Doing this well requires more than adding analytical features. Real-world analysis involves nuanced decisions about data models, joins, aggregations, time windows, missing data, query performance, and the transition from exploration to reusable work. You’ll work closely with design and engineering to make these capabilities understandable without limiting their analytical power.You’ll also help expand the data customers can analyze in Datadog, including third-party and business data alongside operational telemetry. This will make DDSQL and Sheets central analytical tools for a broader range of questions and users.What you'll do:Own DDSQL and Sheets end to end: roadmap, adoption, and growth strategyPartner closely with design to establish a high bar for information architecture, interaction design, and visual polish across complex analytical workflowsUse product analytics and customer research to identify friction, improve onboarding, and measure whether users are reaching useful answers fasterDefine the experience for querying, transforming, visualizing, and sharing data, from query composition and results exploration to errors, performance feedback, and collaborationDefine and execute the strategy for bringing third-party data into Datadog: from market research and use-case definition through pricingExpand Datadog SQL from a standalone editor into a platform-wide query capability on all graphsRedesign how users discover and get started with Graphing products: rethink list pages, build onboarding flows, and create entry points that don't assume prior Datadog expertiseIdentify and pitch net-new investment areas for the Graphing suite: new products, new personas, or new capabilities that emerge from what you learn scaling DDSQL and SheetsWho you are:You have experience building customer-facing analytics, BI, notebook, spreadsheet, visualization, or other data-intensive productsYou have strong UI and UX judgment. You can reason through information architecture, interaction patterns, progressive disclosure, and the edge cases that make complex tools feel either excellent or frustratingYou are analytically hands-on and comfortable using SQL, spreadsheets, BI tools, or notebooks to explore data and answer your own product questionsYou're energized by ambiguity, comfortable forming a point of view with incomplete data, and excited to define problemsYou have a strong technical background and can hold your own in conversations about query engines, data schemas, and storage architecture. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the willingness to present and defend your ideas to technical stakeholders and executives alike4+ years product experienceDatadog offers a competitive salary and equity package, and may include variable compensation.
