Following Buenos Aires and Miami Beach, Faena New York, will find its home at 500 West 18th Street, overlooking the High Line in a building designed by Bjarke Ingels Group. This latest opening will be synonymous with sophistication, glamour, breathtaking artwork, and cultural trendsetting. This opening will mark the resurgence of luxury nightlife experiences in New York with dynamic food and beverage venues and programming that will make Faena the ultimate destination for the sophisticated traveler to New York.

Job Description

Living Room is a glamorous, night-only venue with outdoor space, serving bespoke and signature cocktails, crave-worthy small plates, and an eclectic wine list. Evenings come alive with nightly curated live music, artfully designed to enchant and inspire. The Living Room Server is responsible for providing exceptional table service with precision, warmth, and attention to detail. This role requires strong food and beverage knowledge, the ability to read guests’ needs, and seamless communication with support staff and the kitchen. Servers at the Living Room embody hospitality, ensuring each guest feels seen, welcomed, and cared for from the moment they sit down until their final farewell. 

This full-time position has an hourly rate of $18.00 an hour plus tips. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Welcome guests warmly and establish a professional rapport 

• Present menus, explain specials, and offer thoughtful recommendations 

• Accurately take food and beverage orders and enter them into POS system 

• Anticipate guest needs and provide attentive, unobtrusive service throughout the meal 

• Guide guests through the wine and cocktail list with confidence and clarity 

• Respond promptly and professionally to any guest requests or concerns 

• Follow sequence of service and pacing to maintain flow and guest satisfaction 

• Ensure tables are properly set, cleared, and reset throughout the shift 

• Coordinate with runners, bussers, and kitchen for smooth service execution 

• Maintain clean and organized station and adhere to all sanitation standards 

• Close checks accurately and efficiently, handling cash and card payments as needed 

• Attend all pre-shift meetings and training sessions 

• Collaborate with hosts, bar team, and kitchen staff to ensure efficient service 

• Support fellow team members as needed during busy periods 

• Maintain professional appearance and adhere to uniform standards 

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a server in a fine dining or high-volume restaurant 

• Strong knowledge of food, wine, and classic cocktails 

• Excellent communication and multi-tasking skills 

• Polished presence with a guest-first mindset 

• Familiarity with POS systems and basic wine service etiquette 

• Food Handler and Alcohol Safety Certification required or obtainable before start 

• Bilingual in Spanish a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT 

• Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas 

• Ability to move safely in uneven terrain or in confined spaces 

• Remain active, constantly moving, or prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer throughout work shift 

• Medium Work: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of constantly moving objects, may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
