Substation Engineer

We are hiring Substation Engineers to support major substation engineering, design, construction, commissioning, and field operations projects for a leading electric utility. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers with experience in high-voltage substations, transmission, power systems, or utility infrastructure . The role offers a combination of office engineering, project management, and field engineering responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Support the design, engineering, construction, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of high-voltage substations and transmission facilities Work with power transformers, circuit breakers, GIS, switchgear, capacitor banks, instrument transformers, DC systems, and other substation equipment Prepare and review engineering designs, specifications, construction packages, drawings, and technical documents Perform field investigations, equipment inspections, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and failure investigations Coordinate projects with engineering, construction, operations, vendors, and contractors Support equipment upgrades, system reliability initiatives, outage planning, and capital projects Participate in equipment testing, commissioning, maintenance planning, and operational readiness Ensure projects meet safety, environmental, quality, and schedule requirements Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related Engineering discipline) 3+ years of experience in: Substation Engineering Transmission & Distribution Power Systems Utility Engineering High-Voltage Electrical Systems Experience with substation design, construction, commissioning, testing, maintenance, or field engineering Strong knowledge of power transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, GIS, protection equipment, and substation systems Strong analytical, communication, and project coordination skills Preferred Experience in electric utility, transmission, or substation engineering Knowledge of power system analysis, equipment specifications, engineering standards, and field commissioning Professional Engineer ( PE ) License preferred Keywords Substation Engineer | Electrical Engineer | Power Systems | Transmission | High Voltage | Utility Engineering | Substation Design | Field Engineering | Commissioning | Testing | Switchgear | GIS | Transformers | Circuit Breakers | Protection & Control | Transmission & Distribution | Utility Infrastructure | Capital Projects #J-18808-Ljbffr
