Academic Surgical Pathologist: Breast Pathologist

Our organization is excited to announce a full-time academic faculty opportunity in the field of breast surgical pathology within the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.

We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience who may be considered for the role of Director of Breast Pathology. The position is for a non-tenure track Surgical Pathologist at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The successful applicant will join a collaborative and engaging faculty team that assesses a diverse range of breast specimens, including around 1,200 new breast cancer cases annually, across seven specialized breast center locations.

Our department boasts a robust AP/CP residency program, 14 accredited subspecialty fellowships, and advanced molecular diagnostic capabilities. Additionally, we maintain strong connections with the NCI-designated Winship Cancer Institute, offering numerous opportunities for clinical and translational research as well as teaching.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and diagnose a variety of breast pathology specimens.
• Engage in clinical and translational research.
• Participate in teaching and mentoring residents and fellows.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Board eligible or certified in Anatomic Pathology.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in Georgia.
• Preferred fellowship training or expertise in breast pathology.
• Interest in an additional subspecialty, such as gynecologic pathology or cytopathology, is a plus.
