Project Controls ManagerHunt Utility Services is a privately held company providing management and support services for Sharyland Utilities, L.L.C., a Texas-based electric transmission utility. We are committed to providing safe, reliable, and efficient transmission and substation services, ensuring operational excellence, and investing to support the infrastructure needs of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas grid.Join our team as a Project Controls Manager, where you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining cost, schedule, and performance visibility across a portfolio of transmission and substation capital projects.In this role, you will support the Senior Project Manager by developing and maintaining project controls, validating project performance data, and ensuring consistency and accuracy of cost and schedule reporting. You will work closely with Owner's Engineers, construction teams, and stakeholders to ensure projects are executed with strong financial and schedule discipline.This role serves as the organization's project controls leader, responsible for establishing the systems, processes, reporting frameworks, and governance necessary to successfully deliver transmission and substation capital projects.Responsibilities:Track and maintain project cost and schedule performance across transmission and substation projectsSupport development and ongoing updates of project schedules and cost forecasts, working closely with the Senior Project ManagerPerform cost tracking, forecasting, cashflow analysis and variance analysis, identifying trends and deviations from planPerform schedule tracking and progress measurement, ensuring alignment between planned and actual performanceValidate cost and schedule inputs from Owner's Engineers and project teams to ensure accuracy and consistencyDevelop and maintain project reporting and dashboards, and executive-level performance metricsEnsure data integrity and governance across project systems and reporting toolsSupport change management tracking, including scope changes, budget updates, and schedule impactsCoordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between engineering, construction, and financial reportingMaintain standardized project controls processes, tools, and templates across all projectsServe as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for Project Information Systems and other project controls systemsUtilize project management systems such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Power BI, or similar tools for tracking, reporting, and analysisEstablish and maintain project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), cost coding structures, and reporting hierarchiesFacilitate monthly project review meetings and support forecast reconciliation activities with project teamsDevelop portfolio-level cash flow forecasts and capital expenditure reportingSupport annual budget development and long-range capital planning activitiesIdentify and recommend process improvements to enhance forecasting accuracy, reporting efficiency, and project visibilityProvide regular reporting to leadership on cost performance, schedule status, forecast accuracy, key risks and trendsRequired Skills & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or related fieldMinimum 7+ years of experience in project controls, cost management, or scheduling within utility, infrastructure, or capital program management within utility, infrastructure, or EPC environmentsDemonstrated experience developing and maintaining integrated project schedules and cost forecastsStrong experience with cost tracking, forecasting, and variance analysisStrong experience with project scheduling and progress trackingExperience working with project management and controls systems (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Power BI or similar)Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret complex project and financial dataExperience supporting multi-project capital programs exceeding $50M annuallyStrong understanding of forecasting methodologies, project performance measurement, earned value principles, and change managementAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling, forecasting, and reportingStrong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrityExperience supporting multi-project environments or capital programsExcellent organizational and communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a cross-functional environment with engineering, construction, and leadership teamsCompany Highlights:For 90 years, we have nurtured creative ideas and turned them into successful realities using three core strategic pillars – creativity, excellence, and people.401K – 12% employer contribution with no vesting period (6% Match and 6% non-matching contribution)Highly competitive compensationHybrid work options are available for most rolesFive to eight weeks of PTO annually, based on years of experience; eleven additional holidays per calendar yearAll Medical/Dental/Vision benefits start day one with the company; low employee premiumsEducation Assistance ProgramFree covered employee parking for Dallas HQ based employeesFree specialty coffee bar in the Dallas HQOn-site breakfast and lunch area in the Dallas HQCommitment to the following ideals:Work/Life BalanceOngoing professional development opportunitiesAn exceptional employee experienceHunt is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
