Senior Audit Associate

In the senior audit associate position, you will handle the technical preparation of complex financial statements, and general ledger entries in addition to the analytical assessment of various information and options. As a valued team member, you will take ownership in the entire client process and have supervision of audit engagements from planning to wrap-up, including driving the process for client deliverables. This position involves significant interaction with clients and the ability to foster positive relations within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The candidate will be involved in management decisions and will have exposure to technical issues that will challenge their abilities.

 

The Senior Audit Associate is exposed to a variety of opportunities, clients, and engagements. There is significant opportunity for advancement in this role. In addition, the Senior Audit Associate assists in effectively scheduling multiple assignments at one time, supervising staff, mentoring and reviewing work of staff level associates. The ideal candidate will be confident, self-directed, articulate, and goal oriented. In addition, they will enjoy challenges, be able to delegate and manage multiple projects and deadlines. Travel for this role might be necessary on occasions.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or related field
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of current or recent experience planning and supervising audits in a public accounting environment 
• CPA Certification or demonstrated progress towards obtaining CPA certification
• Understanding of audit services with knowledge of GAAP, GAAS , GASB regulations, and internal control concepts

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in DAS, IDEA and QuickBooks
• Previous audit experience with government, not for profit, for profit, 401K, and construction contractors
