Position Summary The Material Handler is a key member of our manufacturing team and is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the warehouse while ensuring production has the materials, components, and tooling needed to succeed. This position plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting efficient workflow, and helping deliver high-quality aerospace products that support the U.S. military. The Material Handler is responsible for the overall management and accuracy of raw material inventory, including performing routine and monthly cycle counts and maintaining accurate inventory records within the company's ERP system. This position will receive incoming shipments, safely unload trucks, verify received materials, and accurately process receipts into the ERP system. Additional responsibilities include picking raw materials for production, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring all inventory transactions are completed promptly and correctly. This role is also responsible for staging all production jobs by preparing and delivering the required materials, components, parts, and tooling to manufacturing workstations in accordance with the production schedule. The Material Handler will routinely inspect and replenish tooling and staging racks to ensure production employees have the resources necessary to operate efficiently and minimize downtime. The position requires regular forklift operation, material handling, loading and unloading of shipments, and the ability to safely lift and move materials throughout the facility. Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, excellent time management, and the ability to effectively prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. - Pick, issue, and track raw materials while maintaining accurate inventory transactions within the ERP system.
- Stage production jobs by preparing and delivering materials, parts, and tooling according to the production schedule.
- Monitor, organize, and replenish tooling and staging racks to ensure production employees have the resources needed to operate efficiently.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load, unload, transport, and store materials throughout the facility.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Support manufacturing operations by ensuring materials are available when and where they are needed.
- Perform other warehouse and material handling duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately count, track, and maintain inventory.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness and ability to learn and effectively utilize the company's ERP/inventory management system.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to read and accurately use a tape measure and calipers.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated history of reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and move materials throughout the workday and perform the physical demands of the position.
- Previous experience in material handling, warehouse operations, or a manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating a forklift or the ability to become forklift certified.
- Previous experience with an ERP or inventory management system.
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations through inventory control, material staging, and production support.
- Use hands, wrists, and arms to perform repetitive motions, reach, grasp, and manipulate materials, tools, and equipment.
- Demonstrate manual dexterity for handling parts, tools, equipment, and inventory.
- Stand, walk, and sit for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Communicate effectively using speech, hearing, and vision.
- Perform fine motor tasks and simple grasping on a regular basis.
- Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, climb, twist, and reach as needed to perform job duties.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds independently and up to 75 pounds with team assistance or appropriate lifting equipment.
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Work safely around moving machinery, forklifts, powered industrial equipment, and manufacturing processes.
- Work in environments with varying temperatures, humidity, noise levels, and occasional exposure to dust, fumes, and other manufacturing-related conditions while following all required safety procedures.
