PRN Recreational Therapy Aide

THE ROLE:
Responsibilities Assist the Recreational Therapist in planning, organizing, and facilitating therapeutic recreational activities for patients. Support group activities designed to promote socialization, emotional wellness, coping skills, and community integration. Prepare activity materials, equipment, and treatment areas prior to scheduled programs. Encourage patient participation and engagement in recreational and therapeutic activities. Monitor patient behavior during activities and promptly report concerns or significant observations to clinical staff. Maintain a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment at all times. Escort and supervise patients during on-unit and approved off-unit recreational activities as assigned. Assist with documenting attendance, participation levels, and activity outcomes. Help implement individualized activity plans under the direction of the Recreational Therapist. Maintain inventory of recreation supplies and notify supervisors when materials need replenishment. Set up and clean activity areas before and after programs. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support patient treatment goals. Follow facility policies, safety procedures, infection-control standards, and patient confidentiality requirements. Establish positive, professional relationships with patients while maintaining appropriate boundaries.JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED Prior work/life experiences, preferably in a healthcare setting. Prior experience preferably with related software applications. Must be able to plan, organize, and conduct a variety of activities Basic computer literacy and skills.
