Position Summary As an Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse, you will provide essential nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgery while helping ensure a safe, efficient, and supportive surgical environment. Responsibilities Providing comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients throughout the perioperative experience. Assisting surgeons and the surgical team in maintaining a sterile environment. Administering medications and monitoring patient vital signs, fluid balance, and other physiological parameters. Managing overall nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures. Anticipating and providing necessary surgical supplies and equipment. Collaborating and communicating effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Promoting patient safety and maintaining high standards of clinical practice. Contributing to a positive, collaborative, and patient-focused team environment. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred. Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license with the Alaska State Board of Nursing. Minimum of one year of nursing experience in an Operating Room setting. Experience in an outpatient surgery center environment preferred. Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications. CNOR certification preferred. Strong clinical judgment, communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. Commitment to providing exceptional patient care and maintaining high standards of nursing practice.
