Dental Assistant

Quality Staffing, Inc., also doing business as Goddard Mason Executive Search, a leading full-service employment agency matching qualified talent with some of the area's top companies, is looking for a Registered Dental Assistant 2 to work through our agency as a contract employee with the Tennessee Department of Health (TN DOH) locatedin Rockwood, TN. This is an on-site position working from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday for a total of 37.5 hours per week. The pay rate for this position is $25.00 per hour.

Dental Assistant Job Description:

Under direct supervision of a Licensed Dentist, the Dental Assistant 2 will perform procedures designated under the scope of practice for a registered dental assistant to include certification for exposing and developing radiographs and assisting as a chairside assistant during examination and treatment of patients.


Dental Assistant Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing patients and operatories for dental procedures.
• Performing chairside assisting.
• Providing appropriate post treatment care and education for patients.
• Scheduling appointments, answering telephone, and organizing daily schedule.
• Reviewing medical history, recording dental conditions and treatments, and maintaining chart, records, and reports.
• Exposing and preparing x-rays for review.
• Meeting infection control and safety guidelines.
• Compiling information from patients, parents, guardians and family members in regard to patients' health and dental needs; compiling information from community resources concerning school transport programs and school-based referrals.
• Providing patient education in proper oral hygiene procedures; coordinating and developing opportunities for community outreach and oral health activities.
• Communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources.
• Ensuring compliance with federal, state and Tennessee Department of Health guidelines; inspecting materials to ensure compliance with expirations dates and maintaining current dental license and certification.

Qualification Requirements Needed for Dental Assistant position:

• Must possess current registration as a dental assistant in the State of Tennessee with Dental Radiology Certification.
• Have a current driver's license.
• Have current CPR certification.
• Certificates in coronal polishing, nitrous oxide monitoring and dental sealant placement preferred.
• Willing to submit to and be able to pass a TBI background check.
