Position Title Assistant Supervisor – Campus Services Position Summary This role is primarily a night position, with possible weekend, evening, and holiday shifts. The assistant supervisor must exhibit professional conduct and provide high‑quality customer service to employees and patients. The primary responsibility is to train new and current staff on their duties and responsibilities. Meets mandatory in‑service and continuing education requirements. Organizational Support Responsibilities Maintains good attendance in accordance with university policy. Reports to work on time and is ready for duty. Records time accurately using the TCP system for each pay period. Work Responsibilities Supervises daily activities of building services workers during assigned shifts. Helps locate new employees for Building Services. Orients and trains new employees. Prioritizes and assigns duties to staff, ensuring proper coverage to maintain and clean all areas. Conducts daily inspections to ensure cleanliness, quality, and safety standards. Maintains and oversees cleaning and waxing schedules as set by management. Places work orders and collaborates with the Maintenance Manager to address requests quickly. Works with the Director of Operations and Support Services on employee evaluations, contracts, and disciplinary actions. Reports to the Director of Operations and Support Services. Coordinates staff and materials for special events with internal and external staff. Distributes supplies and equipment, maintaining records and approving purchases. Supervises snow removal from sidewalks and parking areas, inspecting these areas as needed. Collaborates on opening new buildings, cleaning, and timely completion of projects, including after‑hours and weekend work. Performs other duties as assigned or requested. Physical Requirements Lift at least 75 pounds. Climb 6, 8, or 12‑foot ladders. Work in all weather and building environments. Walk and remain mobile for more than 8 hours. Work around water, dust, and chemicals with proper PPE and training. Operate machinery such as buffers, scrubbers, carpet cleaners, and snow plows. Have a valid driver’s license and familiarity with pulling a box trailer. Perform blood and bodily fluid cleanup with training. Maintain professional dress and respect when working around students, doctors, and staff. Qualifications Must be able to perform all essential job duties as outlined. Education : High School Diploma or GED. Associate’s degree preferred. Experience : Two years in hospital or clinical custodial services; two years supervising or managing; knowledge of ordering, budgeting, and reconciliation. Salary Range: $28,777 – $35,000 per year, commensurate with education, experience, and internal equity. Salary Grade 2. Full‑time position, time type Full‑time.
