Senior Electrical Engineer

A JAB Recruitment Client is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join their engineering team focused on capital and mega EPC projects.

Office Location - Greenway Plaza, Houston, Texas No C2C We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to support the design and execution of major energy infrastructure and industrial facility projects. This role will provide technical leadership throughout the entire project lifecycle—from conceptual engineering through detailed design, construction, commissioning, and startup. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing electrical systems for large-scale industrial facilities, pipelines, compressor stations, processing plants, or clean energy projects. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to innovative projects involving traditional energy infrastructure as well as hydrogen, carbon capture, ammonia, and other low‑carbon technologies. Key Responsibilities Lead electrical engineering activities from conceptual design through project completion. Develop and review electrical system designs, calculations, specifications, and engineering deliverables. Prepare and review equipment specifications for switchgear, transformers, motor control centers (MCCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), UPS systems, protective relays, and other power distribution equipment. Review vendor drawings, technical submittals, bid evaluations, and equipment recommendations. Provide technical support during procurement, construction, commissioning, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and startup activities. Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, EPC contractors, equipment suppliers, and project stakeholders. Support project planning, budgeting, scheduling, scope development, and change management. Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, electrical codes, OSHA regulations, and quality requirements. Participate in field inspections and resolve electrical design and installation issues during construction. Develop and maintain electrical engineering standards and technical specifications. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across project teams. Manage multiple projects while maintaining quality, schedule, and budget expectations. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. 10+ years of electrical engineering experience supporting large industrial or energy infrastructure projects. Strong knowledge of electrical power generation, transmission, and distribution systems. Experience designing electrical systems for compressor stations, processing facilities, industrial plants, or similar heavy industrial environments. Proficiency with medium- and high-voltage power systems, substations, motor control centers, transformers, protective relaying, grounding systems, lighting, and motor drives. Ability to interpret and develop one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs. Strong understanding of applicable industry standards including NEC, IEEE, IEC, ISA, API, and OSHA requirements. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment. Preferred Experience supporting hydrogen, ammonia, syngas, carbon capture, GTL, or other energy transition projects. Experience with electrolysis systems and associated electrical infrastructure. ETAP experience, including load flow, motor starting, and power system studies. Experience performing arc flash and protective relay coordination studies using ETAP, SKM, or similar software. Knowledge of rotating equipment, including motors, pumps, turbines, compressors, and associated electrical systems.
