Counselor - Grove

(Grove Campus) SAFE Alliance seeks a Counselor for the Community & Housing Services Program in the Counseling Services department. The Counselor provides survivor-centered and trauma-informed clinical assessment, crisis intervention and ongoing counseling for adults, children, families, and groups in-person at SAFE campuses and through telehealth. Provides referrals for community resources, mental health services and follow-up counseling, and linkage with advocacy needs where indicated for survivors. Position Details Full‑time, exempt. Annual salary $62,655–$65,953 dependent upon experience. Work location: Grove Blvd. Campus, East Austin. Includes occasional travel and allows some remote/hybrid work. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field. Current clinical license in Texas (LMSW, LCSW, LPC-Associate, LPC, LMFT-Associate, or LMFT). Preferred experience working with survivors of sexual and domestic violence. Strong understanding of assessment tools, trauma‑informed treatment planning, and group dynamics. Knowledge of dynamics of sexual assault, domestic violence, child abuse, and/or human trafficking. Experience with crisis intervention. Cultural competence and experience with varied ethnic groups. Commitment to diversity. Knowledge of human development, family systems and appropriate therapeutic modalities for adult and child survivors of sexual and domestic violence. Proficiency with electronic technology including record‑keeping, internal communication, and scheduling. Strong crisis‑intervention and stress‑management skills. Knowledge of local social service, welfare, mental health, and criminal justice agencies preferred. Bilingual (fluent Spanish and English) preferred. Effective communication and cultural sensitivity. Ability to complete required documentation within designated time frames. Ability to use a computer for scheduling, data entry, and email. Ability to fulfill essential functions of the position. Driver’s license required; must obtain Texas license within 90 days if out of state, and meet driving record criteria. Must complete 40‑hour Office of Attorney General Sexual Assault Advocacy Training within six months of starting and attend ongoing continuing education.
